Richard P. Meyst - BSME, MSME
President & CEO

Mr. Meyst is an accomplished engineer/program manager/entrepreneur and has been facilitating the advanced design and development of a wide range of successful medical technology products for the health care industry over the last 30 years. He has extensive knowledge in product design and development, product prototyping, production startup, manufacturing engineering, risk analysis, strategic planning, grant preparation and market research.  He has held various engineering, development, operations and management positions at CR Bard, Fenwal Division of Baxter, IMED and other healthcare and consumer product companies. For the last 21 years he has been the owner and President/CEO of Fallbrook Engineering. Selected product experience includes implantable vascular prosthesis, DNA amplifiers, vital signs monitoring, drug infusion systems, medical lasers, surgical instruments, catheters of all kinds, microprocessor based diagnostic and therapeutic instruments, blood cell collection and processing, filtration devices for blood and IV solutions, as well as stem-cell harvesting and cell expansion systems.

Mr. Meyst was recently a Principal Investigator on an NIH SBIR grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute developing a device for the improved collection of Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cells. He served on the Board of Directors for the Society of Plastics Engineers/Medical Plastics Division and is a long time member. He is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, the San Diego Regulatory Affairs Network and the American Filtration Society. He is also a member of the Medical Device Steering Committee of BIOCOM. Mr. Meyst has recently been a juror in the Canon Communications’ Medical Design Excellence Awards competition. His Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering are from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  He has been awarded fourteen US Patents, has over seven applications pending and has presented talks at numerous scientific and medical industry meetings. 

 

William Atkinson - BA
Vice President

Mr. Atkinson has over 30 years experience in the medical device industry. His expertise in all aspects of medical device product development ranges from initial design and development through market introduction. Mr. Atkinson worked on devices for diagnostic and therapeutic products, drug delivery systems, electronic and electro-mechanical devices, regulatory compliance, and documentation systems.

Over a 20 year period, Mr. Atkinson held a number of management positions at Hudson RCi, a leading manufacturer of respiratory and anesthesia products. His areas of responsibility included Engineering Design and Development projects, Regulatory Compliance Documentation, manufacturing support, product labeling, marketing and promotional materials, trade show booths and materials, and product liability management.

Mr. Atkinson is the Vice President of Fallbrook Engineering. His diverse experience and management skills have meant success for a variety of clients and projects. The range of clients includes multi-national corporations, privately held companies, and start-up enterprises driven by inventor/entrepreneurs. Skilled at assessing a client’s needs and selecting the appropriate resources to effectively achieve the identified goals, his project teams have been key to bringing many new products to the market place through effective steps in design and development, design testing, 510(k) submissions, and initial component production and product assembly.

His teams have provided essential support for our clients in regulatory compliance, product labeling, packaging, sterilization, and manufacturing.

He received his Bachelors Degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
