This ER70S-6 wire features excellent tolerance of rust and scale, and produces the highest deposit strength of all the carbon steel MIG wires. The higher levels of silicon and manganese present in these carbon steel wires lead to a solid weld every time.

ER70S-6 is used for butt and fillet welding, and will plate a variety of metal sheets. The thickness of the metal you’re joining determines the wire speed and amperage requirement. Thicker metal requires a faster wire feed and higher heat.

This wire can be used in a variety of applications. Automotive parts, fabricated structures, ship building, metal buildings and sheet metal, all benefit by using high quality MIG welding wires. It can also be used in general carbon steel fabrication.

Keep in mind, a MIG welder cannot be used on all metals. To see if a metal can be welded, do a magnet test. If the magnet sticks, you should be able to weld it. You can also try cutting it with a metal file. If it nicks easily, it will be easy to weld.
